A recent trip to Miami Beach brought me to Oscar and Aileen, the world’s cutest couple EVER for a couples photoshoot! They weren’t afraid to play in the waves, cozy up to each other, and get super playful with each other. Even with a little bit of an audience on the beach.
One pro-tip I like to tell my couples is that if they want adventurous, joyful photos, they need to recklessly abandon the need to keep clean. Seriously.
I like to think that adventurous couples sessions are the art photographers and their subjects create together when you are living in the moment and not worrying about materialistic things.
I’ve found that those are the elopements or couples sessions where the most emotion and energy is conveyed through photographs. Where focus is completely on each other and there is not a care in the world except being in the presence of the other person. Existing simultaneously while intertwined.
Oscar and Aileen knew exactly how to be in the moment for their photoshoot in Miami Beach, near the Cadillac Hotel and Beach Club.
I hadn’t been to Miami since becoming a photographer. It had been a little over 18 years since I’d visited Miami, and back then when I was a senior in high school, I wasn’t experiencing Miami anything like on this trip. The mini lobster rolls at the Cadillac Hotel were phenomenal. And so were the oysters I devoured for lunch one day. We also enjoyed a sweaty boardwalk bike ride with bikes provided by the hotel.
