Brian and Jen had planned their June 2020 wedding but like most couples, decided to reschedule due to restrictions and unknowns surrounding COVID-19. Instead, they wed on a beautiful August day in Osseo WI at The Condensery, one of the coolest venues I’ve seen in this area of Wisconsin. So cool that my team and I had 2 weddings there this year! I love that you can have your ceremony and reception indoors in the same building (no need for a rain plan), but that there is also a beautiful area outdoors on the property to stay close and take photos.

I loved being a fly on the wall while Jen got ready at her home, a farmhouse with character and gorgeous pockets of light streaming in. Her sister, ready to give birth any day and miles away from her Chicago hospital, steamed her dress and her veil, which was the same veil her mother wore on her wedding day. Brian and Jen’s 2 year old daughter Teddy got to witness her mom get ready for the wedding and her close family and friends helped get her out the door after an emotional letter reading from Brian. We were running behind in the day’s timeline and had kept Jen’s dad waiting for their first look.

”I’ve waited 30-something years for this moment, I can wait a few more minutes” he said. Oh dear God, who is chopping onions???

The ceremony was beautiful, with Teddy stealing the show right before Jen walked down the aisle. The reception had the most gorgeous details and speeches that made you fall out of your chair laughing as well as crying a tear or two when they talked about Brian’s late father who had passed away. I enjoyed seeing the ways people were included via FaceTime, because they couldn’t be there in person due to COVID, like Jen’s brother. Brian and Jen incorporated many details within their wedding day to honor those that couldn’t be present. To end, the reception was just THE BEST time and I have to hand it to the DJ for not playing the typical cheesy wedding reception music.

I also had the honor of capturing Jen’s maternity session when she was pregnant with Teddy.

Brian and Jen - thank you for choosing me to capture your most precious moment in 2020.
To say I’m honored wouldn’t do the feelings justice.
